
The legend and the history of the Bataan Philippines
Bataan Peninsula is located south of the west bank of central Luzon, forming the closed and well hosted the Manila Bay to the east that is almost isolated from the open China Sea in the west. The narrow passage between the peninsula of Corregidor Island and Cavite to the south.

HISTORY
Several villages in the coastal plains of Bataan were successful when communities and Spanish missionaries in the 1570s. Bataan, then known as Vatan, was part of the vast empire that included what are now Capampangan provinces Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and parts of Bulacan, Zambales and Pangasinan, coastal villages were inhabited by natives who were predominantly fishermen, farmers and artisans. While Consequently, the hills were inhabited by nomadic Aeta tribes.
Bataan was established in 1754 by Governor General Pedro Manuel Arandia. Before the region was divided into two parts: Mariveles township and the province of Pampanga. The towns of Mariveles, Bagac, Morong and Maragondon, including the district of Cavite Mariveles that was under the jurisdiction Recollect Order of the Roman Catholic Church. The prince of Filipino printers, Thomas Pinpin, a native of Abucay, who has authored or co-wrote some of the first books printed in the Philippines and himself between 1610-1639 in the printing plant within the Abucay Catholic Church. In 1647, the plundering Dutch forces naval were resisted in Bataan, the defenders finally opted for the glory of death the ignominy of surrender.
Bataan was among the first provinces revolt against Spanish tyranny. Two of his son, Pablo Tecson and Tomas del Rosario, an important place in the Malolos Convention in 1898, and helped to ensure that Filipinos enjoyed religious freedom. Cayetano Arellano of Orion became the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the revolutionary government and later became the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
When the Pacific War broke out in 1941, the selection of the peninsula as the site of the last stand defense against Japanese invasion USAFFE forces brought fame and infamy to Bataan. The loss of life and property can not be estimated. Bataan and later became the symbol courage and tenacity in its hopeless stand against the invading Japanese imperial forces much greater. Today, a national monument called the Shrine of Valor (Dambana ng Kagitingan) stands majestically on top of the mountain. CULTURE
Most of the 424 000 people living in Bataan Tagalog. Kapampangan includes a significant minority less than 10% and are concentrated in the neighboring municipalities of the province of Pampanga. Recent rapid industrialization has lured thousands people from other provinces to settle in Bataan.
