hi my name is Ju i am in canada, i am planning to start my import bussiness ,like of home goods,like uphoilstery crafts and home decor. But the thing really confuses me even if i locate a buyer from another country and bring goods from them who will buy my goods ,like the local retailers?
what shd be my plan of action? i mean shd i first go shop to shop and ask them if they will buy my imports as i cannot open my own retail
2)what shd be other thing that i shd do before getting into it?
i despersately need your help

From the information that you have provided, I believe you want to import and distribute products as a wholesaler. All the items you mentioned have great potential for retail customers…. upscale stores specifically. I’ve worked for a company who’s vendors where people just like you. It is possible, but its not easy if your not prepared. Check out the link for this company and browse around there products. The prices that you see are the retail selling prices and not wholesale.

I suggest you take a small business and marketing class. I go to school with some folks who only take these classes and leave to start there own business endeavors. You don’t even have to sign up for a degree. You will learn a lot and have an idea of the “know how” from these two classes.
