
Why do Americans celebrate Halloween at this time?
When the holiday native Northern Ireland, so it's a holiday in English, but we really do not celebrate Halloween, we make sure that Jack and some children O'Laterns Trick or Treat, but not much, not many of us decorate our homes, while the Americans. It seems so strange. I know that wasps and early Irish settlers of New England were Irish, but I feel so special, because America is a Christian country. Halloween is so popular in the U.S. for several reasons. As another respondent, said, we are always looking for reasons to celebrate. We celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo, even though we are not Irish or Mexico. Halloween became a holiday, at present, a number of reasons. Americans have a long history of believing in the supernatural, and created many different stories and superstitions. Early settlers needed a way to cope with their harsh lifestyle and the ghost / supernatural stories were the result of that. These supernatural ideas have been developed by the American Hollywood. Hollywood has many of these stories to life and become part of mass pop culture. Halloween has no direct relationship with religion in the United States and is celebrated by almost everyone. It is simply a celebration of fantasy.
